Cannes is an excellent location due to the layout of the city. During the event, people only go to a relatively small regions known as Le Suquet and La Banane, shown in the map below. This makes it relatively easy to connect with people during the conference.
Unlike other cities that regularly host conferences, such as: Barcelona, London, New York and Austin, Cannes is relatively confined. In other locations, meeting people outside of the panels is more difficult as they could gone anywhere in a large city, after leaving the panel.
