Elwood has worked in the home entertainment industry since 1980, initially at 20th Century Fox which was followed with gaining experience in independent film production and directing before spending 20 years at music & film wholesaler Golds where he was MD & CEO.

He then joined The Little Group in 2008, owner of wholesaler Gardners and he was instrumental in the group acquiring Lasgo Chrysalis Ltd in 2013, quickly followed by the founding of one of now only two US music wholesalers, All Media Supply in which he still has a supporting directorial role. In early 2020 he led Lasgo into label distribution and established Lasgo Records.

Lasgo Chrysalis Ltd was established in 1978 and is the company behind wholesaler Lasgo Worldwide Media and label/distributor Lasgo Records. It operates today from an advanced 200,000 sq ft DC in Norwich UK.
As well as being the UK’s largest and oldest international wholesaler of music covering the widest range of Vinyl, CD and Cassette available in the UK; Lasgo Worldwide Media also offers a full range of UK released DVD, Blu Ray and UHD films, music and film related books & merchandise plus a comprehensive range of turntables and audio accessories including exclusive UK & Irish distribution of the American Crosley turntable brand.

The Lasgo Records distribution division has now grown to be the 2nd largest UK music distributor and distributes for record companies such as Redeye Worldwide, Cooking Vinyl, Charly Records, Manchester based Scruff of the Neck (Cast, IST IST, Inspiral Carpets etc.) to name but a few, and artist direct distribution for the likes of Canadian Rock superstar Bryan Adams and American blues artist Seasick Steve as well as 70’s rock gods, King Crimson. The UK indie store sales are looked after via a joint agreement with 369 Sales & Promotions headed up by music industry veteran Steve Roper.

In both wholesale and distribution, under Elwood’s guidance and leadership, Lasgo continues to grow and is proud of the policy that it puts its customer’s business first.
It has a tailormade customer B2B website with live stock availability, full EDI trading capabilities and a D2C dropship service. Lasgo maintains on time next day deliveries to its UK base and manages its stock levels with daily replenishment deliveries from all suppliers and are also proud to say that they stock more titles than any UK distributor.

Recent OCC chart successes delivered by Lasgo Records distribution include top 5 albums by Blue, Bryan Adams, and Calumn Beattie; chart top 10 releases from Cast & Slow Readers Cub and top 20 entries from IST IST.
