Ian Pickering is a British songwriter, lyricist, vocalist and producer, best known for his work with Sneaker Pimps, where he wrote the lyrics for all the songs, including “6 Underground”, “Spin Spin Sugar” and “Tesko Suicide”. He has also worked with Front Line Assembly, as well as, among others, Natalie Imbruglia, Echo & the Bunnymen, Marilyn Manson, Valerie Renay, Anomie Belle and Slighter.
Now based in Lille, France, Pickering records as The Noise Who Runs. His latest album, RE: GEN X, combines alternative rock, electronica and socially conscious songwriting, examining contemporary culture, politics and the legacy of Generation X through a sharply observed and often darkly humorous lens.
