Josh Mateer is Head Of A&R at TikTok’s recently launched artist & label services offering, SoundOn. Headquartered in London, UK, Mateer oversees signing strategy & artist development across all EMEA regions.

Under Mateer’s leadership, SoundOn has enjoyed a long & growing run of hit signings in its first few years of operation from artists such as WizTheMc, LeoStayTrill, Niklas Dee, M Huncho, Potter Payper, Sidemen, Craig David, Taylor Bickett, Alan Walker, Charlie Jeer, Disco Lines, Nxdia, Killowen to name only a few.

Mateer joined the start-up distributor in 2022 as a founding team member, after well over a decade of success at major labels where he held various A&R & marketing positions across Warner Music Group & Sony Music Entertainment in both London & Los Angeles, most recently pioneering A&R Research Strategy for Warner Music UK via Parlophone Label Group.

He has also managed the business affairs of multiple grammy award winning record producers & had early career success as a concert promoter in the UK’s live industry.
