I attend many conferences, both large and small. The smaller ones don’t always manage to create a genuine sense of community – sometimes it just doesn’t quite gel. But this one has felt genuinely special. The panel discussions have been thoughtful, informative and worthwhile, and the atmosphere has been open and welcoming. I’m so glad I came. Thank you to the committee for the excellent organisation, and to everyone I’ve had the chance to meet so far.

Thank you everyone for a fantastic few days- such a beautifully welcome and approachable atmosphere, particularly with so many industry legends involved. So many conferences feel like there’s a ‘secret club’ of those on the inside having the ‘real meetings’- but this felt like we were all in the club, together! Already looking forward to next year. A brilliant community based and well curated conference.

Thank you, MiCannes, for an incredible four days in Cannes! I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to explore so many different facets of the music industry, attend insightful panels, discover and meet new artists and learn from leading figures who impressed not only with their expertise but also with their kindness and humility. It was an inspiring and enriching experience – thank you for making it possible!

I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you and the entire team for organising such an incredible event at MiCannes. The panel discussions were insightful, the networking opportunities were invaluable, and the overall experience was truly inspiring. Your dedication to fostering meaningful conversations within the music industry did not go unnoticed.

This was the third time I attended MiCannes and it just keeps getting better and better. Of course, being in the sunshine in the South of France is a massive appeal all by itself – but the quality of the panels and chats over large glasses of rose are also tiptop.
I attend as an artist myself as well as a commercial songwriter and each year I leave feeling more full of knowledge, contacts and exciting projects.
Being both french and english, I often don’t “keep my tongue in my pocket” but I feel safe to be able to ask questions and share my point of view – the rooms are full of decades of experience and know-how and yet a desire to keep current and up to date with the industry as it is today and future-facing.
You never know who you’re gonna get to meet, whether it’s an emerging artist (c’est moi!), a lawyer, a tech start-up geek, a producer, etc… the more the merrier and the conversations are rich and super fun!
I can’t wait to go back next year and you’ll see me at the jam, singing my little heart out at the piano next to Roger Ryan – he’s already been warned.

What an amazing event MiCannes ‘25 was; my first one and hopefully not the last. From the welcome drinks to the various informative and entertaining panels, to the fabulous awards lunch and music showcases, the organisation was brilliant and the people I met were immense. Excellent memories and new friendships formed! Thanks especially to Ian Penman and the lovely guys from Notting Hill Music, who were absolutely the best. Huge congratulations to everyone involved, particularly Jay Mistry who, as well as being an excellent panel host, was cool, calm and collected at all times.

MiCannes is an amazing platform for young artists and industry veterans alike. A forum of networking lunches, dinners, gigs and an awards ceremony in the Cannes summer sunshine, an event that now is firmly established in the music industry calendar.

What I’ve been blessed with here and have experienced over the past few days and nights has surpassed pretty much everything I could have hoped for at this year’s MiCannes 2025, many times over. In my younger years, and increasingly again in recent years, I’ve been fortunate enough to experience one or two major events or music fairs, both in Europe and the USA. But what my beloved friend and “brother of another mother” Ben Steadman, together with the absolute mastermind of MiCannes 2025, Jay Mistry, and their loyal companions from the committee and the creative sector, have created this year has been truly incredible. I am truly so incredibly humble, grateful, and proud to have been part of this community, and I’m already looking forward to being able to help carry the flag for Germany at MiCannes 2026 next year. What has happened here in the last few days has been such an incredible enrichment for me personally and for my very nurtured “inner child,” that I can’t even find the right words to do it justice.
In any case, interpersonal emotional dams have just broken here, so I am firmly convinced that I have found new loyal companions and possibly even new friends. Above all, it was a great gift for me to be able to get to know and love a very special person and living music legend, together with his beloved wife, “Alessio Nanni”!!! We were meant to meet in this life and I believe a valuable friendship will grow from this. This great privilege, thanks to Ben, to be able to spend the days alongside legends and greats such as Simon Climie (2-time Grammy Award winner, composer, producer, publisher), this year’s award winner of the global band “Blur”, represented by their drumming legend Dave Rountree, the wonderful Nattyola, Jay, Ian, Laurie, Marcella, Alan and so on, was simply unbelievably beautiful and accompanied by immense positive energy.

At MiCannes dynamics were golden. It’s not uncommon to think we need to connect and meet, in music and within the industry in general. What is instead very common is to get to a point where those connections become nearly impossible or, even worse, completely irrelevant if not even dangerous.
MiCannes is the exact opposite. What we saw happening during the week we spent in Cannes and attending to all the panels, was a very simple yet relevant representation of the music industry as a whole. We met with people who normally would not be approachable, in some case not even easy to find who they are. From publishers, to musicians, to A&R, to real legends from the music industry, all of them were willing to talk, share, meet. The easy to approach type of attitude and the complete no-boundaries environment is something that happens very rarely in the music industry. Hard to find people to talk, even harder to try asking them questions, hoping for a real and relevant answer. MiCannes features that type of apparent simplicity which is known as the virtue of the greatest.
It’s true what they say when by trying to define an experience, we realise that the process takes time. This year at MiCannes 2025 something clicked, and that happened throughout the whole week, across all members of the team and those who attended.
The music industry, by definition, is something that is constantly evolving, mutating. What we listen to today is the result of all the evolution steps, or the involution steps which were taken during the past years. Cycles happen. Musicians adapt. Relevance shifts. Industry dictates. Hence discussing is a necessity.
Being a professional musician since I was 15 years old made me realise that there is something very hard to achieve, and also very hard to describe: music is made out of dynamics. The life of a musicians needs to be as dynamic as possible, otherwise falling back or even regressing is inevitable. What I’ve learned during all these years is that those dynamics are the fuel not only to our careers, but also (and crucially more importantly) to our own creative process. As we accept music being something completely immaterial and constantly reshaping, it goes without saying that feeding ourselves with the best impulses possible is vital to our paths. The people we surround ourselves with are going to impact those dynamics. Those dynamics are defined not only by our inner world: those are defined by the interaction, which as young music students we learn very early. In a way we need to learn how to listen to ourselves while we learn how to listen to others. And that is, in itself, an art which we do have the greatest privilege to learn and master during our lifetime.
Certainly, MiCannes can grow, and it will grow. But given the people who started it a few years back, and given the reality which fuelled the spirit of how MiCannes was and still is shaped, it’s almost inevitable to think this is going to be a staple in our schedule for many years to come. Music lives within the dynamics, and the dynamics at MiCannes are probably the best we saw in a long time.
